Educational Program Overview

The National Tax Practice Institute
The IRS has stepped-up its focus on enforcement—now is the time for you to step up to NTPI. For those in the process of earning their NTPI Fellow designation, remember that Levels 1, 2 and 3 must be taken in order. For more information about NTPI and becoming an NTPI Fellow, click here. NTPI classes and the Graduate Level in Representation classes are open to Circular 230 professionals only.

  • NTPI Level One: Covers a broad range of topics and provides a strong introduction to representation.
  • NTPI Level Two: Case studies and active discussion bring representation to life!  All registrants may sample Levels One and Three, but completion of Level One is required for Level Two and no drop-ins are allowed.
  • NTPI Level Three: This advanced program is designed for graduates of Level One and Level Two.

Graduate Level in Representation: If you’re already an NTPI Fellow or are highly accomplished in representation, you’re ready for the program that will enable you to take your practice to the highest level.

Tax Prep Issues/Practice Management Workshop: Earn CPE while increasing your skill as a preparer with breakthrough classes that will escalate your proficiency in areas such as estate planning, retirement planning, tax credits and more! In the Practice Management Workshop, nationally-recognized experts will teach you to run your business more smoothly—and more profitably.  Note: the Practice Management Workshop will not qualify for IRS CPE but will count towards NAEA’s CPE requirement.

SEE Review: For those very experienced tax professionals who are ready to earn the enrolled agent license, this review course will cover parts 1, 2 and 3 of the SEE to add the final touches before taking the SEE. For those needing more in-depth preparation for the exam, NAEA also offers an on-line facilitator led course – click here for more information. Note: SEE Prep or Review courses do not qualify for IRS CPE but will count towards NAEA’s CPE requirement. The best available instruction for those preparing to advance their careers by taking the Special Enrollment Exam (SEE) is provided by the organization dedicated to enrolled agents—NAEA.
