Themes of Success and Leadership Usher In New Leadership

Past President Kirby Robinson, EA Administers Oaths of Office

WASHINGTON, D.C.,  May 10, 2008—“Success is never final” and “We’re better together” are the themes that resonated during meetings of NAEA’s 2008-09 Board of Directors and state affiliate leadership who met in Washington May 7-10.

The meetings featured two days of board orientation and culminated in the Installation Dinner on Friday, May 9. The new Board of Directors held their first meeting on Saturday, May 10.

The NAEA 2008-09 Officers and Board of Directors were sworn into office by past president Kirby Robinson, EA on Friday, May 9. Following is the listing of the NAEA officers:

Concurrent with board orientation, the semi-annual Presidents Exchange for state affiliate leadership featured almost two days of interactive dialogue and informative sessions on issues of importance to the state societies. The board and affiliate leadership jointly participated in special public awareness and government relations sessions off-site.

The National Association of Enrolled Agents (NAEA) is the membership society of tax professionals who provide tax preparation, representation, tax planning and other financial services to millions of individual and business taxpayers. They are the only federally licensed tax specialists. Members of NAEA must fulfill continuing professional education requirements that exceed the IRS’ requirements. NAEA members must also adhere to a code of ethics and professional conduct. The Enrolled Agent license was created in 1884 by the U. S. Department of the Treasury.
