84 Tax Practice Fellows Graduate
Baltimore, MD (August 30, 2007) - This week, the National Association of Enrolled Agents (NAEA) released the names of 84 individuals who successfully completed the National Tax Practice Institute (NTPI) and recognized them as Fellows of NTPI. NTPI is the premier tax representation training program in the nation and is sponsored by NAEA. NTPI develops and enhances the knowledge and skills professionals need to effectively represent taxpayers before the Internal Revenue Service (IRS).
With a formal three-year curriculum, NTPI sharpens the skills of enrolled practitioners at all stages of their careers. With each level of this tiered program, students expand the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed to successfully guide clients through the often challenging maze of IRS codes, internal regulations, and agency structure. NTPI represents the only program of its kind at which taxpayer representatives gather to enhance their representation skills. Courses are taught by practicing experts about contemporary representation practice issues and ethical considerations of representation practice.

This includes all representation matters relating to client rights, privileges, and liabilities under laws or regulations administered by the IRS. Enrolled agents are required to abide by the provisions of U.S. Department of Treasury Circular 230 in their practices.
Today, enrolled agents advise, represent, and prepare tax returns for individuals, partnerships, corporations, estates, trusts, and any entities with tax-reporting requirements. Enrolled agents are unique as the only group of tax practitioner specialists required to maintain their credentials through continuing education reported directly to the IRS. Each year, enrolled agents work with more than eight million individual and small business taxpayers.
The National Association of Enrolled Agents (NAEA) is a non-profit membership organization dedicated to representing, promoting and enhancing the Enrolled Agent profession. Members of NAEA exceed the IRS continuing education standards and adhere to the Code of Ethics and Rules of Professional Conduct. The NAEA website, www.naea.org, includes tax news and helpful information.
